Peace by Joel Martinez

A strong visual experience in which every element of the piece has a purpose. Beginning with the use of colors which represent the colors of Mexico, which is the side of the border with the most violence. The red represents the blood being spilled everyday in Cd.Juárez. The white doves represent the peace that people want and that is why that is in the foreground. The green graphic inside the doves represents the diverse culture and folklore that the El Paso - Juárez region has. The type used is not the clearest which represents the “cloudy” politics of both sides of the government. The word peace was also strategically placed in the middle because it truly is the responsibility of the government to take care of its people so they are the “targets” of the drug traffickers and the citizens. There is also some texture over the whole image as well which represents every innocent victim. And finally the white grungy border around the image which represents.
