SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

June 10th March in Ciudad Juárez

EL PASO GROUP WILL MEET AT 4PM 

IN THE PARK IN FRONT OF ARMIJO LIBRARY (8TH AND CAMPBELL) 

AND WALK TOGETHER ACROSS STANTON STREET BRIDGE TO MEET JUAREZ GROUP at AVENIDA LERDO!!!

IF YOU ARE COMING ON THE MARCH, PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
  • PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE A HAT, SUNSCREEN, AND WATER.  IT WILL BE VERY HOT AT THIS TIME
  • YOU WILL NEED YOUR PASSPORT TO CROSS BACK INTO THE US.
  • PLEASE CARRY SIGNS AND BANNERS DISCREETLY UNTIL WE CROSS THE BORDER AND MEET WITH THE JUAREZ GROUP. 
  • PLEASE REMEMBER THE PEACEFUL NATURE OF THE MARCH, AND RESPECT YOUR ROLE AS A FOREIGNER IN MEXICO. 
  • PLEASE CONSIDER FORMING GROUPS (BUDDY SYSTEM) TO WALK TO MONUMENT, AND WALK BACK ACROSS BRIDGE.  TO WALK BACK YOU WILL NEED TO CROSS AT THE SANTA FE BRIDGE (EL PASO/JUAREZ STREETS).  STANTON STREET BRIDGE IS ONE WAY. 
We will have maps of the march route and back to bridge and will distribute this widely at Armijo Library.

June 11th in El Paso
• 10 am – gathering in San Jacinto Plaza
• 11am – Receive Sicilia, presentation of/by families of victims and people in exile in El Paso
• 12pm – Ritual/symbolic act of commitment
• 1 pm – Close of event
During the entire El Paso event we are going to have an educational fair with representatives that are working in areas related to the violence including femicide, women’s rights, attention to victims, human rights in Juarez, immigration, political asylum, drug policy, arms policy, etc. We will also promote an artistic presence with music, visual art, and activities for children, etc during the event. Pieces made for march in Juarez can be brought to this event on Saturday. Artists and poets who do not want to cross into Juarez can make a commitment to be present at the El Paso event.
